Problem rendering with backburner
«

Hello.
I'm rendering a scene through backburner, and at some point in the render (random time), several trees are rendered as billboards, but not all. At first only occurs in one node, but soon start to "propagate" also to the rest. The billboards are retaining the material of the original object. All the trees are geometry (no proxy) and the renderer is mental ray (max2012). The same renders fine without backburner.
I'm placing the trees in custom edit mode.
Any thoughts?
Regards

It's a strange issue. We have not seen this problem before.
Please, try to reproduce the problem in a stripped scene (removing all non-essential objects), and send it to us. We will check it here.

I'll try to isolate it ass soon as possible (now I'm trying to go ahead with the rendering). One question, if I have a render node license installed in a computer, could I open a scene and render it (without change anything in forest objects)? It's for render the animation by hand, rendering from frame xxx to yyy on every computer.
Thanks for your help

It doesn't work because Forest requires a license when Max runs on interactive mode, but it will work from a Batch render.

Are you talking about batch render inside 3dsmax or a batch file with command line render?
Regards
EDIT: just in case, a couple of frames showing the issue:
trees and shrubs are all forest objects, and are rendered to billboards randomly but in a per forest object basis, not only parts of a forest object.

The idea is to render the scene from command line in non-interactive mode. The result would be the same, the 3dsmax batch render helps you to create the batch file.

There was some problem in my system. After reboot all computers and re-send the work to BB all is working fine after almost 200 frames.
