COVID-19 update and working from home

With escalating concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to write a post to let you know how iToo Software can support you and help you to stay safe during this difficult time.

Several countries (including Spain, the home of iToo HQ), are recommending that employees work remotely, and we have already had a number of requests for temporary licenses. Due to our commitment to perpetual licenses and resistance to online licensing and SAAS, we’re afraid we do not currently have the ability to issue temporary licenses. Once one of our licenses is activated, it is yours to use forever. 

However, this does not mean you cannot use RailClone and Forest Pack from home. You have two options, depending on the type of license you own: 

  • Standalone. Although not explicitly stated in our EULA, we allow users to install a second copy of our plugins on a laptop or home PC assuming that the two computers are not used at the same time. If you require additional activations, please email us on helpdesk@itoosoft.com
  • Network/Floating. You can access your network licenses from home as long as you can connect to the license server. If your company does not already have a VPN or equivalent available, for ease of setup we are currently recommending Teamviewer. iToo Software is already a fully remote team, so our business hours and level of service should remain unaffected. Should the situation change, it will be announced on our Blog, Facebook and Twitter.
